I appreciate all the help I've received on the list regarding this problem.

Hopefully, I won't have to take up any more list space with this problem.

Sincerely,
Tom Behler

Hi, Tom. I've never been told not to run JAWS from the system tray. In
fact, I have been advised to run JAWS from the system tray.

Here's how I get to the check box to run JAWS from the system tray.

1. Alt+TAB to your JAWS window.

2. Press Enter on Options.

3. TAB to the 5th check box, which should say:

Run JAWS from the system tray (not checked).

4. Press SPACE BAR on this check box to check it.

5. TAB to OK and press enter.

Your JAWS program should now be set to run JAWS from the system tray, but
this setting will not take effect until you next re start your computer.
After you re start your computer, you should be able to reach your JAWS
window by pressing INSERT+F11, and arrowing down to JAWS, and pressing enter
on this list item.

I hope this solves your loss of JAWS speech problem.

Thank you.
