Samara:

Instead of writing to the list and waiting for responses, first try using the
help system that comes with every version of JAWS.

Since Freedom Scientific introduced training materials in Daisy format in
version 6.0, there have been two areas within the JAWS Help system where you
can obtain information about the different cursors used by JAWS, including the
JAWS Cursor

The FS-Reader, that is used to access the help modules, for JAWS and Magic in
Daisy format, is installed when you install either JAWS or Magic.

To get to the JAWS Help System, press INSERT+J, then press the letter H, or
down arrow to where JAWS says "Help". You then press ENTER to open the JAWS
Help system.

If you installed the "training" module, the first item in the help system, is
an item called "Training". Inside this menu item, are all the training modules
for JAWS, in Daisy E-book format. Dan Clark is the narrator. If you have a
Braille display, you can also have the text scroll along with the speech.

If you down arrow through the rest of the menu items, you will find the same
training modules. You access these modules, using the standard Windows Help
System. format.

By using the JAWS Help Menu System to obtain help on a particular function or
aspect of JAWS, you will become more self-reliant and less dependent on others.
The other advantage is that you will get the information on the JAWS help
topic you want, when you want to obtain it, without having to wait for someone
to respond to your email that you posted to the list, which might take several
hours.

Of course, there are times when writing to the list is very useful, especially
when information in the Help system, is not very clearly written or spoken or,
where the Help System may not contain the information you are seeking.

Good luck and good hunting.

HTH

Sincerely:

Dave Durber

How do I navigate with the jaws curser. I cannot find the command for
anything, but I know there is a way to do it.
