I have not used Moodle as such, but I have begun looking into it as part of a project we are running at the resource center (a former school for the blind) where I work. In the project we are going to look at three such "learning platforms" to find out how accessible they are for blind users - especially those who first and foremost rely on a Braille display and not so much on speech. We will also try to find techniques to use these learning platforms as effectively as possible, and give recommendations on how to make the various platforms more accessible.

Moodle is one of the platforms we are going to look at, along with It's Learning and Fronter - both platforms develoved here in Norway.

As far as I know, Moodle already has built into it some accessibility tools, due to Italian legislation. That Moodle can use various themes looks promising - then it should most likely be possible to create quite accessible themes like people have done for various blogging and CMS platforms.

Hi all, Has anyone here used "moodle" a web based classroom similar to
blackboard and WebCt? I'm about to start a MBA program that uses Moodle
as part of the classroom and want to find out all I can about it in
advance.

Thanks,
Jason
