OK.
I assume you are talking about Microsoft Word.  Right?
Assuming that is correct, the next question is whether you are talking about 
Word 2003, 2007, or 2010.
Can't help you with 2007 or 2010.
In 2003, Press Alt plus A for tables.  Choose "Insert Table."
That will give you a dialog box  Pick the number of rows and columns you want.  
Don't worry too much.  You can always add and remove rows and tables.
I leave the other values set to the default.
Assuming you don't want all your columns to have the same width, after you have 
inserted the table, with your cursor inside the table, hit Alt plus A again.
Then select "properties."  Within "properties," you want columns.  There will 
be an edit box with a value, usually measured in inches (in the U.S.), which 
you can change for each of the columns.  Remember, your page is only so wide.
This should get you started.
