Style changes are changes in MS word styles. If your whole document is in Body
Text or Normal, you won't hear any Style Changes.
If you are looking for attribute and font changes, switch the speech scheme.
Do this by pressing Jaws key plus alt plus the letter S.
If you haven't messed with these settings before, you will likely be set on the
default, which is Classic.
If you just want to hear changes in font and/or attributes, up arrow to the
flavor of classic you want, i.e., Classic with fonts, classic with fonts and
colors, and so on.
That will alert you as to the kinds of things you are looking for.
The style announce wouldn't tell you any of that information -- unless you or
someone else created a MS Word style where the name matched those particular
attributes.

Subject: MS Word: style changes announce?!

Hi folks,
I have set the style change announce option to always announce, and I expected
to hear any kind of style changes(at least during navigation and editing), such
as font size, style, etc. but Jaws announces not so much! I want to have a
clean document; the style changes appear where they have been intended for
that. Any idea rather than Jaws key +F?
Many thanks,
Hamid
