MS Word Jaws saying "New Paragraph"

Hi,
I am using an old version of MS Word 2000 on XP with latest update of Jaws. Every word document now says "New paragraph" to reflect every time I pressed the enter key in the original document. I assume I have accidentally turned on something to show formatting marks but I can't figure out how to turn it off since I did not intend to turn it on. I am really getting aggravated since I can't even read by paragraph without listening to the "New paragraph" over and over. Can anyone help me fix this problem? Even if you are using a newer version of Word maybe I can adapt the fix to my older version. By the way it did this before I upgraded to the latest version of Jaws so it is not an upgrade thing.
Thanks in advance.
