Tom, Try pressing Alt+Enter to open the properties box for the attachment. Pressing Tab will allow you to either launch or detach the attachment. Alternatively, there should be a menu entitled Attachment on the standard menu bar, which can be accessed with Alt+T which will provide similar options.
