LOL, whenever I read one of these "is this a good computer" messages I keep
thinking about the Blues Brothers movie:

Its got cop engine, cop suspension, cop tires.

  Does the cigarette lighter work?

  Yes.

Then you got a good deal!

It is the same way with JFW. If the computer meets the hardware specs for JFW
you will get it to work. Now what programs you run on it is entirely dependant
on your needs. You didn't mention if you will only be using it mostly in the
office or will you be using it for research in the field. Blind persons using
screen readers have no need to see the screen so a larger display is wasted.
The weight of this model concerns me a little if it is to be used extensively
in the field. I would opt for a lighter model with a small display. Also you
mentioned research. This usually implies being connected to either the internet
or a VPN. How do you plan on being connected? There are laptop models that have
built in celluar modems and you may want to investigate this.

  Frank

Laptop with vista Wonding if any of you vista experts can give me an
opinion on this laptop and whether you think it will do the job. Mostly I'm
using it for my law practice, drafting pleadings and for online legal research.
