I see. So this is all about being able to access an error dialogue having to
do with one or another application besides Jaws itself. What do you mean by
saying that Kill Jaws creates an icon on the desktop? In all of this, what I
thought I learned is that first you create a batch file (which is the only
option if you're an XP Home person, as I am). Then you yourself create from
that new file a desktop icon for which you curate a hotkey.

The critical part here is that the kill jaws batch file doesn't itself
create a desktop icon, right? You have to do that as part of setting this up
for yourself? Thanks.

And again, if there's an emergency key combo offered by Jaws itself, Insert
Windows key F4, that will properly unload Jaws even when in a situation
where Insert F4 alone won't work, why would you need this Kill Jaws setup at
all? Not clear about that, yet. Thanks.

Kill Jaws creates an icon on the desktop. You can then access the
Properties page and assign a shortcut key, something like Alt + Control + K
or whatever. Once you close JAWS, you can restart it using your hot key or
Run dialog. Once JAWS is running again, you can respond to the send Error
Report message. If you encounter a system crash, you may still have to
restart your computer.
