Hi Sean,
I don't know much about cygwin, but I suspect that you must set the =
'TERM' variable to an appropriate value before open the ssh session.
Before call ssh try something like:
export TERM=3Dvt100
The word 'TERM' must be write in uppercase.

Sinse you are a fellow cygwin user, do you know how to get cygwin to =

properly with jaws during remote ssh sessions?? I notice when using =
cygwin with
emacs and jaws under a remote ssh session, results in the key mappings =
for emacs
being screwed up. You can't use the arrow keys but I don't have this =
problem
under telnet with the windows telnet client.
