from work. Need to finish up what I am doing here, then I will head home and
tackle this beast.
Thanks.

hello there;

when you use the jaws keystroke, insert+f11, do you see, speech recognition?
if so, enter on it,

you will see such items as,
On: Listen to everything I say
Sleep: Listen only for "start listening"
Off: Do not listen to anything I say
Open Speech Reference Card
Start Speech Tutorial
Help
Options
Configuration
Open the Speech Dictionary
Dictation Topic
Help improve Speech Recognition...
About Windows Speech Recognition
Open Speech Recognition
Exit

so, for example;

if your speech recognition was sleeping,

you could use,
the keystroke,
ctrl+windows-key,
hold down,
or, simply say, start listening,
you will hear a audible sound,

now, you can talk to your machine.

example;

go to desktop,
 then,
Microsoft outlook,
jaws will say this,
then say, enter,
and your email should open.

I cannot get this to work? I type in speech recognition, so do I tab over to
set up my microphone first or do I enter on start speech recognition? I am
using a lojitech headset but anyways...
Someone chime in and see if they can guide me in the right direction, in the
mean time I will continue playing with it until I need to get back to work.

Hello there;

has anyone tried the speech recognition program built in windows 7?

I was playing with the program last night.
once I got my microphone setup,
I was able to,
1, speak to my computer, and issue voice commands, such as,
go to desktop,
say such things as,
Microsoft word, then jaws would read the icon,
then I would say, enter, and yes?
word would open,
now, I can dictate text, and automatically the text would be on the screen.
you can open, close save, with your voice.

very interesting.
