I don't think you can make a valid comparison between VoiceOver and JAWS since they work on different operating systems and access information on the screen in different ways. If you get a Mac, you will just need to learn the Mac and VoiceOver ways of getting things done. Your best bet of getting a preview of what's that like is to listen to the various podcasts on the Mac and VoiceOver on Blind Cool Tech and elsewhere. Although I don't have a Mac computer, I found these podcasts gave me a good idea of how VoiceOver worked.
