Hello folks,
We need to keep in mind that the JAWS 10 beta has not yet been released to
the public; therefore, we don't really know all the features being added. In
addition, there may be features FS is working on behind closed doors we
don't know a thing about. We need to remember that what is a significant
update to one may be different for another. There are some really nice
features being included with the new upgrade, including auto forms mode, the
ability to use Unified Braille, increased useability in office 2007, and
others. Although these are not significant features to one, let's not forget
that there are other users of JAWS than ourselves and they might think these
are awesome additions to the software. Please don't take this as criticism,
because it isn't meant to be. I am just stating my opinion on the JAWS 10
release. Think about it this way, maybe we are getting the most out of our
screen reader and these things are not what directly affect us individually,
but FS has to take many people into account and create a product that works
for all. If you don't like a feature, usually there is a way to turn it off.
For example, auto forms mode will be able to be disabled if you don't like
it. there may be another person who does like it and chooses to use it. At
least FS is allowing you to pick and choose what features to use and what
features you don't want to use.
