Jaws saying words only

Hi everybody,
I'm typing interviews for some extra money. The result is that I move
between Windows Mediaplayer and Word. When I'm in Word I put jaws to
say words. When I moto widnows mediapllayer and back to word, jaws
reads charactors. What can I do that Jaws stay on word-mode, even if
I go out of Word?
