Tried it all. Even reinstalled windows, and updated everything that can be updated. No go. Guess I'll have to wait for the complete download to be posted.

Always read the material that is sent out along with the update. In this case, Eric stated it was very important to be sure JAWS was not running as a service when you run automatic update. This will not be the case in future updates.
