Has she tchecked the "Jaws Verbosity" dialog box [Insert]+[v]?
Launch the Verbosity dialog box while on the desktop (To make sure
the "Default Config" is loaded. She then must scroll down the list
and confirm the "Screen Echo" is set to say "Say Highlited."
