I use Rockbox on an IRiver H320. It plays through both the headphone and line out. The Rockbox voice plays wherever normal Mmp3 audio would play from the player. Note: I've been using Rockbox for a few months now and find that it works quite well, with only minor glitches.

Joe: does the speech from Rock box play from the headphone or lineout of the
mp3 player?

Hi there,
In technical terms, Rockbox is essentially a firmware with its own speech
(usually AT&T voices) on top of it. This firmware is used with media
players
like iRiver H340 to give blind users access to these players via speech.
So,
to your question, no, JAWS will not work. They are separate entities: JAWS
is a screen reader for Windows as opposed to Rockbox, which is a firmware
with speech synthesis for portable media players and alike.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi: Is anyone familiar with rockbox and it's voice access? Must it be
used
with jaws, or does it speak separately? John Fioravanti
