Oddly enough, I learned the factoid about Media Center being a variation
on the professional OS from this list, but I had suspected it earlier,
based upon the fact that all the tutorial material on my OS referred to
XP Pro.

The answer is that you definately need JAWS Pro.
I know this because I used to have one and JAWS standard wouldn't
authorise
on it. Also, I have just purchased a new Media Centre PC and JAWS 8
standard
and it wont work on that. I purchased it because I knew I'd be getting
Vista
Premium in the next few weeks.
I'll let everyone know what I think of Vista once the free upgrade
arrives.
