I am very happy with my Dell inspiron 1420. It has:

bluetooth
802.11n wifi
pc card slot
sd card reader
cdrw/dvd drive
2.2 ghz intel core duo
2 gb of ram
160 gb hd
an extended 9-cell battery

a very nice and large keyboard, with modifier keys on both sides of the
spacebar.

I did put some braille dots on various function keys, as they were not
grouped in a way that made it easy to find a particular function key.

I have no trouble with the arrow keys, although the home/end/page
up/page down keys are in a vertical column instead of the traditional
2x3 arrangement.

I would recommend disabling the touchpad, as it's far too easy to rest
your wrists or thumbs on it and cause the mouse to jump around into
applications you didn't mean to activate.

It comes with a very small remote control if you wish to use it as a
music or media server (this lets you play music, skip to different songs
or albums, etc.)

You can buy bluetooth headphones and a bluetooth keyboard for when
you're at home if you want to move around freely and not even have to
hold the weight of the laptop or deal with it's keyboard. This gives
you a desktop feeling and still lets you have full mobility.

There was also an option I did not take for a cell modem card (aka
ev-do), which lets you have relatively slow internet access, but you can
have it anywhere you get cell phone service.

hth,

Chip
