Jaws and Winamp 5.541

Hi folks,
I am using either jaws 8 or 9 on an XP-pro machine with
Winamp 5.541, I think the build is 08/03/2008.
Everything but the left-and-right foreword-and-rewind
commands seem to work well. When I press the arrow keys the
speech blanks out, jaws will echo some random number and
when the speech returns it is exactly where it was prior to
pressing the arrow keys.
I would be willing to go to an earlier version of Winamp if
it would fix this problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
