Jaws Verbosity

I'm having real difficulty adjusting down the level of verbosity within JFW v7.
I am happy that i hve word echo when typing, but I cannot easily work
out how to stop JFW saying "enter" "escape" etc etc. Once changes
are made I also want to be able to save globally as I usually have
preferences which apply to most of the aplications I use.
All help for what should be really simple is appreciated.
