on the other hand, I don't often have a problem with it and if I refresh the
display, jaws find works if I have had an issue with it.

I know precisely what you mean.  Often, you can even copy and paste a word
directly from the internet into JAWS Find, and it still won't find it!
It sometimes does work though.  Often arrowing down a few lines and then
trying again works.
