That's a known bug in JFW 8 when using Outlook Express. At least it seems that they've fixed that one in JFW 9.

Blessings,

Subject: Jaws 8 and outlook express

Hi,

Now that I have started to primarily use jaws 8.0.2173 with outlook express
6, on an XP pro system with all the updates, here is the first of what I
perceive to be the first of many questions.

While reading multiple messages, I press the delete key to move from one
email to the next. Sometimes, not all, the first word of the following email
will be spoken after jaws says deleted but before the sender's name and
subject of the next email is spoken.

I do have the screen maximized. Also hitting the control key first before
the delete key or using control + d to delete the message does stop the
first word from being spoken but I am hoping that some setting will allow me
to just use the delete key by itself to delete the message without that
first word being spoken.

I have pasted below my current verbosity settings:

Adjust JAWS Verbosity
Message Header Fields Announced with Message - On CloseMessages Read
Automatically - On
User Verbosity - Intermediate
Smart Word Reading - On Execute
Spell Text - alphabetically
Spell Alphanumeric Data - Off
Progress Bar Announcement - On
Typing Echo - Characters
Screen Echo - Highlighted
Graphics Verbosity - Labeled
Custom Labels - On

Any suggestions for this annoying problem?

Thanks in advance.

Rich
