I agree with you and am seriously thinking of changing to system access when my freedom contract runs out. I can't afford 2 screen readers. considering what I do at home system access can do most of it and they have a pretty good web page. I am not trying to hit freedom over the head and I realize the complaints should go to freedom. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Darrell Shandrow" <nu7i@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Bruce, Many of these issues have been reported via the public beta feedbackprocess, FS technical support and various public venues all to little or no resolution in subsequent JAWS 8.0 updates. With each new JAWS update, I amfeeling more and more nervous about the quality of the development talent pool held by FS. Unsubstantiated reports that FS may be in technical trouble are really starting to feel to me like they may hold some weight. Technical trouble will eventually lead to financial trouble, my friends. Dialogs still don't read correctly without having to use the jaws cursor. performance is very sluggish in windows mail and functionality in Windows mail is extremely poor. I have to continually close messages and re open them toget them to read. My mail status says something like 1 messages un reads.Did someone make a mistake in grammar here? In the volume controls dialog the reading is still read opposite of the correct amount example if it's set at 90 percent jaws says 10 percent if you press insert up arrow to get the status of the slider. Also when you try to change the volume rapidly by up or down arrowing it tries to spell the value out still as it did in beta 2. And I've been in the final release for 10 minutes now. Wonder what I'll find out after a day or two.Sorry FS but I'm very disappointed with the final release of Jaws and willuse someone else's reader for Vista till it's fixed properly. I'll be putting up a podcast on my website probably next week showing the problems I've found in this release. I'm sorry but this release for Vista just doesn't cut it and lags far behind Window Eyes or System access.
