It sounds like Jaws is reading information from the system tray. One option is to remove the language icon from the desktop, in which case Jaws shouldn't read it. To do this, go to Control Panel> Regional and Language Options>Languages Tab(CTRL+TAB once to get there) then select the details button. This will open the Text Services and Input Languages screen. Select the Language Bar and deselect Show the Language Bar on the Desktop. That should resolve your issue, if not the new JAWS behaviour, grin.
