Java and the Access Bridge?

Hi all,

a friend has very, very serious issues with Java and a particular website.
When she updated Java Runtime, and the Access Bridge 2.01, nothing would read in firefox, not even the Google website. The page she tries to log onto uses Java to display certain elements, to which she vitally needs access.

What can she do to get her Firefox back on track, plus to read the info on the page. As this is confidential stuff, I do not have access to the sensitive areas and am therefore unable to reproduce anything on my machine.

Does she maybe need an earlier version of Access Bridge, or doesn't that make any difference?
Her JAWS is 8.0, and Win xP in Spanish.
FireFox is up-to-date.
Any helpful answer is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Nermin
