Hi,

The automatic update feature works only on Java 5.0 running on Windows
2000 with SP3 or WindowsXP. If you want to do an update, use the *Update
Now* button for manually updating Java. The Java Plug In Control Panel
is reached via the Windows system control panel. See
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/deployment/deployment-guide/faq.html
for more information.

As for what the bridge does, it makes it possible for a Windows based
Assistive Technology to get at and interact with the Java Accessibility
API. For more details see http://java.sun.com/products/accessbridge/
