robert, You have hit on something here. I didn't realize a while back that
when I was having the message menu problem that it might be due to having
another window open. I can also fix it by maximizing the window though.

I have this problem sometimes---for instance, if I have an internet window
open then minimize that window & go to outlook express, I can only read part
of the pull--down menus. If I close the internet window, I am fine again--as
far as reading menus goes.
