JFW problem for a friend

Evening everyo9ne.
My friend is using jfw 8.0.2173. She is having a problem whare she is
unable to read documents in Microsoft word 2003. She keeps hearing the
status line. She is also having a problem whare the text tht she is
deleting is not being spoken. I'm sure this has been brought up before but
not sure what to do at this point. She was told by fs to try to upgrade to
jfw 9 which did not fix the problem. Any one else have fix for this
problem. Thanks in advance.
