I believe that window bridge was also one of the first if not the
first.
They were the first back in 1992. they were also the first with windows
95 support offering it on the day of the release of 95 they also offered
support for 98 on the day of release. Window bridge 2000 offered
support on the day of release of windows 2000 and me.
They had this slick transition from dos to windows so a blind person
could do their own installations.
Yes and you could use the same screen reader for both dos and windows.
 They are both gone,
Yes it is sad window bridge is now a thing of the past. This has
nothing to do with use how ever. The founder of synthavoice passed
away in 2001 and there was no one to carry on his grate and vastly
better work. Now we are stuck with this 3rd rate support and 2nd rate
user interfaces. Where jaws stand above the other screen readers is
marketing and it has a wonderfully flexible scripting langwige.
and Jaws and Windoweye are keeping up the good fight.
And they will until linix comes along with a gui interface that is as
accessible as windows and then the free software will over take the over
priced software.
