Hi, if you are having a problem with windows issues go to the blind programming web sight http://www.blindprogramming.com There they have many lists that might be helpful to you. One of these is the windows list. As far as setting things in jaws when ever you have a option in front of you in any jaws program press insert f1 a full explanation will come up explain what that option does. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of catlady12@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, June 28, 2004 6:25 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [JFW] jaws with that attitude of yours: I think a lot of this stuff in the new versions of jfw are just plain unclear to us "users"! You people who are more technically inclined will definitely understand what each section of the new HTML type stuff does and what you get or don't when turning it on or off with those check boxes, but us ordinary people, who just want to go, for example to the amazon book store site, or a game to play, do not know what effect each element has till we've played with it, and if we've turned off a bunch, we don't know which ones we need to turn back on to make jaws read like it use to in version xxx! This is my personal difficulty, and I am assuming it is others as well. I am not familiar enough with windows jaws, and didn't even use DOS long enough to actually know command line interface either! I had my computer set up by a company who created macros for me so that when I booted up in dos, all I had to do was type an F an my spread sheet for vending report opened. They also set up my games that way! I always had to ask someone how to copy a file cause I never could remember which came first the to or from, and it was four years after getting the computer that I even found out I could get e-mail! I even had trouble with that! I liked windows when someone explained that it was all Macros, but the dozen ways to do the same thing is as confusing as was DOS to me! I am slowly learning, but I don't have a lot of money to take expensive courses, so I depend on lists like this to help me to understand the problems. Many times, I can't figure out if I have a Jaws problem, a windows problem, or a combination! Many times the moderator will point out that certain topics have nothing to do with jaws, but is this really true? If I cannot figure out how to navigate in windows Media player with Jaws, is it me or jaws or windows that's stupid? I feel frustrated right now with a problem that I know is windows, not jaws related but I don't know how to fix it or what list I can ask the questions I need answered on! It's truly difficult to separate it all sometimes! catlady12@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -- To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
