I can not imagine that AMD does not do multi tasking! I do not have this
problem with my now ancient Athlon XP processor and I doubt if it is
more sophisticated than the new 64 bit jobbie.

CPU usage, is where you have multiple applications running at the same
time. J. F. W., does to send a thread of information, to CPU and it has
to wait a 
while.
That is why sometimes J. F. W. will stutter.
With a penny of 4 with hyper threading, that is usually not the case.
And the reason why is because they can process, more than one thread at
a 
time.
