MessageMy thought was that the RealSpeak voices might be nice and fluid if they
have a lot more processor power.

Sounds likely doesn't it? Right now, until it becomes old hat, and is
replaced by something even hotter, most manufacturers are really hyping this
feature, and it's almost certainly prominently mentioned on the machine's
features list. Of coursed, both processors share the same sliver of silicon.
This looks to be the wave of the future, as machines with multiple multi-core
processors, and chips with 4 processors, start to appear.

    Hi,
    I hope this isn't a silly question.
I have a Dell 5150 with a 3.4 gigahertz Pentium 4 processor and am not sure
whether it's dual-core or not. I looked in the device manager and notice two
processor entries. Does this mean that the CPU is a dual-core?

I don't know about JAWS having a processor all to itself, but those
dual-core processors are slick. the main advantage, as you implied, appears to
be performing cycle-intensive tasks, such as virus checking, without crippling
your system. I've used one for just a few days shy of a year, and couldn't be
happier.

Has anybody tried running JAWS 8 with RealSpeak voices running, on a
computer with a Duel Core processor. For those who don't understand what they
are, they are just the new type of processor, which have two processors in one,
meaning your computer wont slow down when doing background tasks such as virus
checking.

I fured this might make a big improvements to us JAWS users as we are
always running JAWS which is quite intensive, on top of the application we are
actualy trying to access.

Would it mean JAWS would almost have a processor all to itself while
you are running other stuff you are accessing.
