My neighbor got his computer and JAWS from the VA. He had JAWS 6, until just recently. I don't believe they ever told him about getting an SMA, but I did. He was going to look into getting a newer version of JAWS, on his own, when the VA gave him JAWS 11. I suppose they would have sent someone to help him install it. But, I live right next-door, so I could help him. I believe, with JAWS 6, the authorization number appeared, when installing 11.

From my knowledge the software the VA hands out should also come with someone to help install it. I have noticed that the VA seems to be handing out the JAWS 11 to many vets who have very old versions of JAWS.
