Patricia and all, please download the latest service pack for Office 2003, SP3.
To do this, do a Google search and type, exactly as shown, "office 2003 sp3"
download. This may solve any problems you're having with previous service packs
of Office. Good luck.

I thoguht maybe it was my laptop or something being strange, but my version
of JAWS does the same thing, leaving out letters.... I'm experiencing this in
Office 2003 student edition with the latest build of JAWS 8 v. 8.0.2173U
