On the computer front, I must admit, it is almost the same as jaws. Of corse, any apple application will and does work incredibly well with voiceover. Pages, numbers, keynote, safari, mobile mee, iTunes, you named it. Any apple application will work. 3rd party is still a hit or miss. But from what I have found, apple is more strict with their PC applications and therefore there's more chance that voiceover will work with them. Remember, apple is the one given the instructions on how the applications should work and then there is more chance that voicever will have more support.

Hi buenos dias yadial hey hablo espanol, haha what you wrote about the third party application is procisely what I am asking for. I admit I hate the ESpeak voice. It is pretty good. Easy to use and it doesn't eat much resources. But frankly I don't know if it is just that I am so acostumed to jaws on a windowsenviroment that I can't get myself to switcch to it full time. But since it is so much like jaws on the commands and how it works, it is easy to pick upif you are a jaws user. On the apple front I must admit that my experience is not as complete aswith NVDA. I have used the computer version only like for 8 hours and I mustadmit that the only problem I had was 1, the OS, it was so different frommicrosoft that it took me a while to get used to it and 2nd, the fact that is so hard to switch languages on it. Now, on the other hand, I have an iPodtouch which you may know has a version of voiceover on it. It worksperfectly. Almost no bugs and is very easy to use. The only problems that I could find are the fact that 1st, you only have one voice per language and you are stucked with the real speak voices and 2nd, you don't know how wellthe voiceover will work with 3rd party applications. Frankly, I can'tcompare jaws with voiceover at all. There are so different products and sodifferent enviroument that it won't be fair to compare them. But jaws andvoiceover do what they are intended to do, provide blind (and laisy sightedpeople) access to computers via speech output. FYI, voiceover provides native support for focus 40 blue braille display and 30 other braille displays. Of course my opinion isworth every penny or Kopeck or Guilder or Pound you might pay forit, and therefore worth nothing to anyone who has a different opinion.I've asked FS specifically to start branching out JAWS into threebasicproducts (and price then appropriately) -- one for speech, one forBraille, and one for magnification. Then the code you pay for and receive is optimized for your requirements and not hobbled to make it a cure-all for all ailments. Of course each "module" should allow merging of the other module to allow dual capability. And of course it was appreciated and considered as not being a suggestion that would result in any improvement. So there I go. Another opinion worth every penny.
