hey Cy, another thing that most of us don't think about and/or don't know is that when jaws starts auto reading something, it automatically runs the mouse/jaws cursor from top to bottom of the page/document which leaves sighted folks sitting at the bottom of the thing while jaws is just starting to read at the top, the PC cursor generally follows the voice for the main part, but the page focus is way out of wack at times. to get your wife in and on the same spot as you: 1. stop any auto reading. 2. make sure the pc cursor is at the area you want to show, best to be directly on the area of the sentence etc you want for easiest viewing 3. route jaws to pc cursor, 4. hit insert and escape to "refresh the screen", this will generally refocus the document so the area your working in is in the "visible screen area" sometimes I need to switch to jaws cursor and use the arrow keys to move it left and right rapidly to "show" a sighted person where I'm at visually (a rapid hitting of right and left arrow once each direction back and forth usually works well). I think I understand what you want to do, but doing it is a little tricky. Firstly, if you are talking about a webpage or word document then all bets are off because the virtual screen is entirely different from what your wife sees. So, we'll assume it isn't in the virtual buffer. Here is what jaws help says about the jaws cursor: "The JAWS Cursor is linked to mouse pointer functions in Windows and other applications. It is used to read information the PC Cursor cannot read, such as toolbar information. The mouse follows along with the JAWS Cursor when it is moved, and you therefore have access to information in an application window that is beyond the scope of the PC Cursor. To activate the JAWS Cursor, press NUM PAD MINUS." So I would think if you wanted to show your wife what you are hearing why not turn on the jaws cursor with numpad minus and then route pc to jaws with jawskey+plus. Is this what you are looking for? When my wife is reading the screen and she wants to know where on Earth I am reading from it would be nice to track the mouse to the cursor. JAWS 11, W7 64 bit, MS Outlook 2007. Cy
