JAWS and Your TV Monitor?

Just a weird thought... One thing that bugs me is that when our Sony TV
turns on I can't use the remote to change the input selection because it's a
menu being displayed on the screen, and it always wraps around. It's a
hit-and-miss proposition to get the input I want.
Does anyone know (here's the JAWS part coming, James) if we can connect the
TV display output to a laptop PC so that JAWS can be reading the screen at
the same time?
I'm thinking "no" but perhaps there's something out there?
