Pressing the equal's key will place focus in the formula bar.
Pressing the Alt key then pressing Control + tab one time will put you on the
tool bar.

Good luck,

Roy

Subject: JAWS and Excel: accessing the toolbar with the formulas

  Hi everyone:

I am taking a computer course that is involving the use of Excel. I have
never used Excel with JAWS much, except to enter numbers... but now I am having
to use the formulas feature along with others that are visual and that I cannot
begin to explain because of my utter confusion. the one question that I may be
able to get answered here is how do I access the formula toolbar with JAWS?

Also, when I create a chart the virtual viewer comes up on screen describing
the coordinates and such, though it is not visually accessible. As I am getting
sighted help with changing things within the chart, the virtual viewer at times
seems to inhibit certain commands. I have checked that it wasn't checked in the
configuration manager, yet it still comes up. and when I do escape it
disappears but it also goes out of the chart. is there some way to stop the
virtual viewer from coming up for the time being and then implement it at a
later time?

sorry for this convoluted sounding e-mail.

  Patricia
