Jaws doesn't do this very well.

Set view to print view instead of normal. Right arrow from the bottom of one column to the top of the next.
Use page summary to tell you which column you are in.
If you arrow down, Jaws will stop you at the bottom of the column. Then right arrow to the next one. In JAWS 8 I think I could use the JAWS cursor across the page to get to the next column, then rout JAWS to PC. JAWS 9 doesn't let me read across the page columns with the JAWS cursor.

Hey all,
How do you get JAWS 8 and 9 to work with multi-column Word documents? I'm talking about Word documents with multiple newspaper-style columns. Say-all's not a problem. Suppose, though, that you want to move directly from one column to the next or go to a specific column on a specific page. I can't find any reference to this in the JAWS help anywhere; the only thing I can find with respect to columns deals with table reading, and that's clearly not what I'm after.
