I see why I wasn't familiar with these navigational keystrokes. Ideal with tables only reluctantly and in a fairly primitive way with Jaws. I have to admit that there aren't too many instances where this really falls short for me, in the usual type of Web surfing and word processing I do. Butit's good to know this. Thanks. You mention navigating on a Web page using control alt and arrow keys? just left and right? What's that about? I never heard of this. What does it do, and when is it handy? thanks.----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave Carlson" <dgcarlson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, January 16, 2008 1:29 PM Subject: JAWS 9.0 and Reading Tables Another problem that I'm having with JAWS 9...One of my web sites has a table with checkmarks in the first column. These can be checked/unchecked to allow me to select which books I need to renew(it's my library site). When I tab into the table, and when I tab into the cell containing the checkbox I hear "checkbox not checked" just as I would expect. When I use Alt-Ctrl arrow navigation I hear "blank". I have to then press Alt-Ctrl-LeftArrow again to hear the checkbox. JAWS 8 does not have this problem. Any ideas as to settings, etc? FS tech support could not offer any advice except the usual to "remove JAWS and re-install".
