hi. a dongle is not necessarily a thumb drive authorization, although such a thing certainly does exist. A dongle is a hardware based type of authorization, whereas a thumdrive can contain the necessary files to authorize JAWS. the only problem with this, and this is something i wish FS would change, is the fact that the proper video intercept driver has to be installed on the computer you're using before everything will work. You can't just put the video driver on your thumb drive, for technicle reasons i won't go into here.

That would be cool though!

Hello Patricia,
What country are you in? This might be a ridiculous question, but it is one
that I do not know the answer for, so I will ask, what is a dongle?
Take care,
John

According to this article from FS (
http://www.freedomscientific.com/fs_support/BulletinView.cfm?QC=767
), the last Quella version is 5.10. While it's possible later
versions of JFW still support Quella authorization, by the sounds of
that article, anyone who's renewed their SMA ater 5.10, at least
anyone who uses the English version of JFW, is automaticly switched
over to the ILM authorization.

Quella ended at version 5.0 or 5.1, actually. I have the 6.0 CD
still, which came with my original and to this date only authorization CD.

There is no Quella version anymore. Everything is either ILM or
Dongle, now. Has been since roughly 6.0.
