There brands of flash drives that do not work for this purpose because they
have some sort of software on them. As I recall, Verbatim and Kingsbury are the
brands that are recommended.

I remember seeing somewhere that there is an adapter that allows the flash
drive to be plugged into the player and be parallel to the machine.

Thanks. I was wondering what brand to consider if important and is there a
rule of thumb for price per gig.
Also as this device will protrude from the player, are there ones that are
compact enough so as to avoid unnecessary bumping and the like.
Lastly, is the fit into the port universal?

Yes and yes. Any specific questions? the process works well. (I'm a JAWS 11
user, but I assume JAWS 12 acts no differently in this instance.)

Subject: JAWS 12 & USB Flash Drives for BARD book machines

Greetings: Does anyone have experience with their desktop computer and a
USB flash drive for the BARD book machine?
Further, will JAWS 12 announce simple navigation to this drive when
properly installed?

I am using the cartridge method at the moment but am looking for
recommendations for a good value in a reliable flash drive to enable increased
storage.

Thanks for any guidance and tips. Best Holiday Wishes, Mitch
