HI Yep,exactly I really cannot remember when this started happening to me, couple of years ago now, It started happening after a Jaws or MSM update I really cannot remember which. I get exactly the same symptom as you, in that the announcement of the new message will not stop until you bring that message into focus and this can be really annoying particularly if you are playing a game on line and the announcement keeps going over the game, it is a real nuisance, it just repeats and repeats. Does anyone else out there have this problem or is their new message announcement announced just the one time as it used to be for me? graham ----- Original Message ----- From: James Homuth To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, April 13, 2009 10:53 PM Subject: RE: JAWS 10 + Windows Live Messenger question I've done that, and it still does that. I unchecked the display an alert option, and it still repeatedly says "so and so - conversation" for a couple minutes after the receipt of a new message, until such time as we bring that conversation window to the active focus. It never used to happen to me until several versions ago and I have never been able to work out how to stop it from doing this dam annoying thing. graham ----- Original Message ----- From: James Homuth To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, April 13, 2009 6:39 PM Subject: JAWS 10 + Windows Live Messenger question I just installed JAWS 10.0 plus latest update on my girlfriend's computer this week, and I'm noticing something that doesn't happen on my own. When someone sends an IM using Windows Live, it continuously repeats the conversation title window until either the window is brought into the foreground, or a period of 2 minutes or so passes. At first, I thought it was because of something in Windows Live flashing to gain attention and let us know we had an IM waiting for us, but she has enough useable sight to be able to tell that isn't the case. I'm wondering if anyone else is having this particular issue, and if so, how best to go about the business of stopping it from happening. As I said, running 10.0 with most recent update, plus Windows Live 8.1. Any help would be appreciated.
