I love it too. Great idea, just don't want it to do it automatically on a page loading.

I've checked as well and setting the auto forms mode delay to a few seconds makes no difference, it enters forms mode straight away on the page loading. A good example is Ebay.

Hi Gene,
I'm a power user and I absolutely love auto-forms mode. It was annoying to say the least that you had to press enter on edit controls, and then get out of them. This is intuitive for new users as well, and I think it was a good move by FS. Sure there are some bugds in it, for example, in firefox, when you press alt + down arrow, a combo box will not open automatically and you have to press enter. Not the mention productivity and the sound that they have implemented to speed up things. Yes you can turn off auto-forms mode in the jaws verbosity options alongside with the accompanying sounds.

Best regards,
Orhan.

I don't think I like the idea of auto forms mode at all. If I want to fill out something, it is so easy to hit enter to get into forms mode, there is no chance of typing something into an edit field unintentionally, I always know whether I'm in forms mode or not, and if for some reason, I'm unsure, all I have to do is press the key combination for the pc cursor to find out.

I don't like my computer or its programs to do my thinking for me, and automatically putting me in forms mode when I may not want to be there falls
into that category IMO.

Hi, I love the new auto forms mode. However I find it annoying when sometimes it will automatically go in to auto forms mode when you first load
up a site. For example EBay or other sites were there is a search box or
username field, and the website is designed to put you straight to either of the boxes. JAWS then switches to forms mode as soon as the page has loaded (sometimes even whilst it's loading), and then you can't use your navigation quick keys to move around the page, without having to press down arrow first
to get out of forms mode.

I'd like to have it so that JAWS wont go in to auto forms mode in
situations were the website automatically puts you in an edit field.

Anybody else have any comments on this?

        Peter
