Adrian,

Two ways:

1. From the desktop, Ctrl+space to unselect any icon that's selected. Then App
key or Shift+f10 to open the context menu and select properties. Ctrl+tab
until you get to the setup page.

2. From anywhere, Start, settings, control panel, display, then Ctrl+tab to the
setup page.

Dave, good point. I neglected to have her check. Because she's working
against a deadline, do you recall off-hand where the screen resolution setting
is located? I'll hunt for it.

  Adrian,

I'm wondering if the screen resolution is wrong?

Subject: Insert-8 Reads Whole Line of Desktop Icons

Hi. I'm trying to help a new user to JAWS get her system working optimally
with JAWS. When I press insert-8 on my desktop, JAWS reads the title of the
current icon only. When she presses insert-8 on her office machine, JAWS reads
across the entire line of icons.

We've put in all of FS's recommended JAWS settings in the display area, etc.
We've made sure screen echo is set correctly. We've rebooted. So far, no cigar.

This may or may not be related. I notice that her XP system has been upgraded
only to service pack 2. I've encouraged her to have her tech support people
install service pack 3. Could that be the culprit? I think not, because her
home system is configured the same way, and insert-8 is acting correctly there.
Still, does anyone recall how JAWS' performance improved after service pack 3
came out? I recall only that it did.

  Thanks for any suggestions.
