Hi Catherine, simply insert your JAWS CD, and in the setup wizard, click repair. The rest is up to you, i.e., whether you want to remove user settings or not. Hope this helps. -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266 ----- Original Message ----- From: <katherineschulz6266@xxxxxxx> To: "blcompusers" <blcompusers@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, April 10, 2009 5:05 PM Subject: Initialization Error Message With Jaws Yesterday, while visiting a website and placing information on the clipboard, I also went to OE to check messages. Jaws read the message list but when going into the message, it wouldn't read anything. I then went to IE and tried going into sites that are in the favorites folder. The site would open, but I couldn't do anything. I then ran my antivirus program which found nothing. I unloaded Jaws and when I tried to restart it, there was an error message saying that the application failed to initialize with an error number. Unfortunately, I don't have the number to send. After that, I had no speech at all. I had someone sighted try to close the error message as no navigation keys would work. Even though it was closed several times, it always reappeared. I shut down, restarted and even unplugged the computer, all to no avail. The problem is fixed at this point because my son came home and did a system restore. Is there any other way to fix this problem if it happens again, and what would cause it in the first place? Also, can someone tell me how to do a repair for version 9? I know that they changed the way it is done from the earlier versions. Thank you for reading this lengthy post and I appreciate any help that is given.
