Jim,
I'm with Mark on this one. I understand. On my computer, Jaws says nothing
when you press alt n except to report the key presses, and there are no
system pings that sound for me when a pop-up gets blocked or at any other
point, even when I do have a pop-up and use this technique, which I tried
out today by going to a site I knew would offer a pop-up at one point. I
couldn't work out quite how to actually "see" the pop-up once I'd clicked on
"allow pop-ups temporarily on this site," for some reason. I tabbed and
arrowed around the page, thinking I'd come pon the pop-up waiting for me to
read it, but all that was there was the naked Web page, sans pop-up. It was
as if the pop-up had disappeared while I was doing this alt n/space bar
thing.

So Mark, you're not the only one who finds this routine a little mysterious.
But I'll play with it some more and see if I can figure out what I'm
supposed to have done.
I'l what ksy

Well, it could be just how I have JAWS set, but there's nothing spoken when
you press alt n. Since this is obviously different (it's not everyday one
has to press alt something or other and then the space bar or something) it
would have been nice if they'd incorporated something for beginners to let
them know that they need to press alt n and then space. But, I'm sure you
see my point--the information bar's brand new, and so the confusion isn't
too surprising! Even I was confused for the longest time, until I read up
on it more. :) Mark
