Hi Jerry, Did you read something about a package called swt? It is used by eclipse and if I am not mistaken the applications = developed using this package are quite accessible.=20 As an example eclipse is write in java and has a good accessibility = with jaws. I do not need java access bridge installed to use eclipse. = Eclipse uses the swt package to implement the graphical interface. ----- Original Message -----=20 From: "Jerry Richer" <jerry@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, December 14, 2004 8:29 AM Subject: Re: Improved java access From the prospective of a computer programmer I used to be a big = Java fan. However getting anything written in Java to be accessible was so klugey I've abandoned it. I'm not entirely sure where to place any = blame on this lack of accessibility but I'm quite confident in putting it = squarely in Microsoft's lap. If the operating system knows to write "Hello World" = to the monitor so people can see it than the operating system ought to be = smart enough to tell the synth how to say it.
