Hi Judith: The hot key doesn't work at the login screen. Also, the trick of going to the start menu, then running the netstart jfwservice doesn't work either. Sounds as I thought that the best thing for this person to do is re-start the computer. I tried explaining that she should learn how many times to arrow down through the user accounts to get to her account, but she is not comfortable putting in her password without speech.
